Property:Has Geonames ID

This is a property of type External identifier. It corresponds to an ID at Geonames. This is used in addition to Wikidata IDs because Geonames tends to make a more rigorous distinction between populated places and administrative units, whereas Wikidata sometimes conflates both into one entity which has two Geonames IDs. You should only enter the ID number here, not the full URL, or the html page appended to the ID number. It will be automatically formatted as a URI in this form (where $1 is the value you entered):
